FRUTTA E VERDURA DI STAGIONE. PERCHE'?
Quando si gira al mercato o si passa nelle varie corsie del supermercato, si pensa soprattutto a riempire il carrello e poco a quello che ci si mette dentro. Spesso è la fretta, che porta a fare scelte scorrette.

Qualcuno si sofferma 5 minuti a pensare alla stagione dei prodotti alimentari? La stagionalità dovrebbe essere la prima motivazione che spinge il consumatore a scegliere un broccolo piuttosto che una melanzana.
In inverno bisogna consumare verdura e frutta invernale mentre in estate verdura e frutta estiva e non il contrario. Bisogna rispettare la natura perchè facendolo otteniamo numerosi vantaggi, per la salute e non solo:
- Più salute. I vegetali solo se raccolti e consumati al momento giusto contengono davvero tutte le sostanze nutritive che li caratterizzano. Questo significa che le proprietà nutrizionali di un frutto o una verdura coltivati e raccolti fuori dalla sua stagione abituale potrebbero risultare alterate.
- Più gusto. I prodotti di stagione sono più buoni e profumati. Avete mai provato ad odorare un pomodoro d’inverno? Praticamente non si sente nulla.
- Più utilità. La natura fornisce i vegetali al momento giusto: in inverno compaiono kiwi, arance e mandarini ricchi di vitamina C che ci protegge dai malanni tipici della stagione fredda; in estate, invece, quando il nostro organismo ha bisogno di una maggiore idratazione, troviamo albicocche, pesche, prugne, melone, anguria ricchi di potassio e altri sali minerali che vengono persi con la sudorazione.
- Più risparmio. I vegetali di stagione costano meno perché non c’è bisogno di utilizzare artifici (serre e additivi chimici) per farli crescere in una stagione che non è la loro.
